NTI-tss® Treatment for Bruxism,
Migraines, and TMJ

NTI-tss® Treatment for Bruxism,<br>Migraines, and TMJ

Clenching or grinding your teeth while sleeping or during the day can take a toll on your oral health and overall well-being. Also known as bruxism, this harmful habit not only may cause your teeth to chip, loosen, or break, it can also lead to a painful TMJ disorder.

By wearing the small NTI-tss appliance to sleep at night, it's virtually impossible to clench your teeth. This innovative device allows the discomfort and other issues associated with nighttime clenching to begin to resolve.

Recurrent migraine headaches affect close to 38 million adults and children across the country. Because of the extreme discomfort and debilitating symptoms associated with migraine headaches, sufferers are often not able to tend to their tasks or daily routine.

As a drug-free method of care, treatment with an NTI-tss appliance avoids the harmful side-effects of medications, while eliminating excess loading and stress on the trigeminal nerve to help prevent migraines and tension-type headaches.

Temporomandibular Joint Disorders

According to the National Institute of Dental and Craniofacial Research (NIDCR), temporomandibular joint disorders (TMJ) are the most common source of chronic facial pain and jaw dysfunction. It's estimated that more than 10 million people in the United States are affected by temporomandibular joint problems.

Designed to prevent the back teeth from touching, the NTI-tss appliance inhibits unhealthy muscle contraction and relieves stress on the muscles, joints, and nerves to alleviate the symptoms of a TMJ disorder.

Treatment With NTI-tss

As an FDA-approved dental device, this versatile and innovative oral appliance offers effective and comfortable care for the prevention and treatment of diagnosed bruxism, migraine pain, and jaw disorders. It works via the reduction of trigeminally innervated muscular activity. NTI-tss, which stands for, "nociceptive trigeminal inhibition tension suppression system," is a small and precise-fitting oral appliance that reduces the intensity of clenching to protect the teeth, muscles, nerves, and joints from undue stress or overload.

How The NTI-tss Appliance Provides Relief

As an alternative to more cumbersome and uncomfortable full-coverage bite guards, NTI-tss appliances are much smaller and easier to wear. Designed to reduce the intensity of jaw clenching while a patient is sleeping, this appliance prevents canine and posterior tooth contact in all excursions and suppresses clenching intensity by almost 70%. By reducing the intensity of the clenching, uncomfortable symptoms and associated dysfunction are free to resolve. Some patients experience relief after one night, while others just after a few weeks of wear. Not only does this appliance alleviate discomfort, but it also successfully reduces the tooth wear and breakage that may be caused by bruxism. And, although this "miniature anterior bite appliance" is typically worn at night, variations may be fabricated for daytime use as well.

Custom Made For A Precise Fit

Custom fabricated to the exact requirements of each case; the NTI-tss appliance features a precise snap-in fit for maximum comfort and stability. Made of the highest quality of biologically-safe acrylic materials, this oral appliance is extremely durable. Because the acrylic does not absorb stains or odors, it only requires running the appliance under warm water each time you remove it.

An Effective And Reliable Solution For Bruxism, Migraines, & TMJ

To date, millions of patients across the globe have been fitted with NTI-tss appliances and have experienced relief from bruxism, migraines, and TMJ symptoms. While the standard device is not suitable for children, a special appliance can be fabricated for the primary dentition. It's also worthwhile to note that many insurance companies provide coverage for an NTI-tss appliance as it is approved for the treatment of migraine headaches.
