3 Features to Look for in an Electric Toothbrush

Electric toothbrushes can be game changers for your oral hygiene routine, but shopping for one can feel overwhelming with all the options available. Here are 3 features to look for in an electric toothbrush so you can make sure to get one that checks all the important boxes.

1. A Built-in Timer

A built-in timer sounds like a simple feature, but you’ll be surprised by how much it can help you to keep your routine on track. It’s easy to rush through your brushing routine when you’re getting ready in the morning or before an important meeting or event. But dentists recommend brushing for a full two minutes for good reason: it helps to ensure that every surface of every tooth gets cleaned thoroughly!

Having a built-in timer is one of the most important features to look for in an electric toothbrush because it can help to take the guesswork out, saving you mental energy and ensuring that your teeth stay clean and healthy.

2. A Pressure Sensor

Many new electric toothbrushes have a pressure sensor to monitor brushing technique and let you know when you are brushing too hard, in which case the toothbrush stops vibrating. This can be helpful because many people who brush too hard don’t know it and the effects can be damaging to your enamel and gums.

3. Smartphone Apps

One of the most exciting features that many electric toothbrushes now offer is the ability to connect with a smartphone app for real-time, interactive feedback on your brushing habits and technique. This can be invaluable if you want to make sure that you are brushing every area of your mouth thoroughly or if you are simply hoping to build better brushing habits.

Ask Your Dentist!

When shopping for an electric toothbrush, one of the best things you can do is to ask your dentist about what features to look for in an electric toothbrush that would be most helpful for your specific lifestyle, needs, and challenges. Your dentist will be happy to answer any questions and help you find the right toothbrush for you.

Call our Imperial Dental Office, to make an appointment with a dentist who may be able to help you find out more about this topic, and improve your oral health.

2) Every patient must complete a special COVID-19 survey and confirm that they are symptom-free before receiving an appointment.

3) Hypochlorous Acid treatment of rooms between patients (more effective than bleach and SAFE (the human body makes this chemical to combat microbes!)

4) Barrier wrapping in all treatment rooms

5) Surgically Clean Air throughout office turning over the room air every few minutes!

6) HVAC in the office with UVC Light Treatment (powerful disinfectant known to kill microbes), UVC light treatment in treatment room
